If you have prepared the dough using our dough recipe, the tomato sauce is ready and the ingredients are on the table, you can bake pizza’s on the table yourself. You get the most out of your Pizzarette if you stick to the following instructions. If used correctly, your pizzas will taste better and your Pizzarette will also last much longer.
The beginning
Place the Pizzarette in the middle of the table, the ingredients scattered around. Some basic ingredients for pizza’s, such as tomato sauce and mozzarella, are perhaps better placed double on the table. Like this, it is always in everyone’s arm’s reach. Turn the oven on, about ten minutes before everyone goes to table. Warn your guests that the terracotta top gets very hot, just like a real stone oven.
Getting started!
When everybody is at table, the pizza fun can begin. First put a dough circle on your spatula, and then spread this with tomato sauce, leaving around an edge of half a centimetre. Like this, you get a nice crispy crust around. Put ingredients of your choice on your pizza. Mind the correct order! Grated cheese always comes last, so this can melt and gratin a little bit under the red-hot top. Slide the pizza on the spatula through one of the four openings in the top, far enough to get the entire pizza on the griddle. You can leave the spatula underneath. And now let’s wait.

How long does it take to bake a pizza? The baking time of a mini pizza depends on several factors. The type of dough, the topping, how many ‘cold’ pizzas are slid in the oven at the same time... Usually, the baking time is about 7 minutes. While waiting, you possibly can compose a new pizza on your plate.

Ready? Let’s feast!
If your pizza is ready, you can slide it off your spatula on to a plate. Mind to put the hot spatula away on a safe spot; either on an insulating coaster or possibly back in the oven, whether or not provided with a new pizza.
Enjoy together
The fun of pizza gourmet is that you not only surprise yourself but also your table companions. Share your pizza with someone else, taste each other’s creations and discover new culinary delights in terms of pizza. You can even organise pizza competitions, where everybody appreciates each other’s pizza creations giving points. The person who has scored the highest points at the end of the evening wins the pizza trophy.
TIP: keep it cool!
If you serve wine, do not put the bottle too close to the top of the pizzarette, or use – especially for white wine – a well-insulated wine cooler, otherwise, before you know it, there’s glühwein on the table.
Maintenance;
First, before you start cleaning, let the unit cool off completely!
The terracotta is made of baked clay and thus very vulnerable. If the top is hot you should avoid contact with water or a cold substrate to prevent cracks.
In normal use you don’t have to clean the top. However, if you want to clean it, the best thing to use is hot water and a brush.
WATCH OUT! De terracotta top should NOT be placed in the dishwasher!
The griddle and the spatulas can be placed in the dishwasher or can be cleaned using hot water and a dishwashing brush.
The device itself contains electric elements. It should never be immersed in water. However you may clean its surface with a damp cloth.
